The Prime Minister’s International Business Awards will be held in November this year, celebrating the outstanding achievements of Fiji’s business community. This year’s theme, “Navigating Global Winds – Resilience, Innovation and Sustainable Growth,” emphasizes how Fijian businesses are navigating changes in the global economic landscape, particularly in climate innovation, digital transformation, and inclusive growth.

Event organizer Investment Fiji has opened applications and is encouraging local businesses to apply before the deadline. Kamal Chetty, CEO of Investment Fiji, reiterated the importance of these awards, stating they provide an opportunity for recognition at the highest national level. He also mentioned that there are numerous award categories, from Forestry and Fisheries to E-Commerce and Innovation, catering to a broad spectrum of businesses.

This year, there will be 15 award categories available, and Chetty highlighted that these awards serve to uplift businesses and individuals who contribute to Fiji’s advancement both domestically and internationally.

Support for the event comes from notable sponsors including Fiji Water, BSP Financial Group, DHL Express (Fiji), and others, all of whom play a significant role in sustaining this prestigious occasion. Their commitment helps maintain a platform for recognition, empowerment, and growth within Fiji’s private sector.

Chetty noted that these awards reflect a growing trend toward innovation and sustainability in business practices, which is encouraging for the future of the Fijian economy. Businesses yet to apply are urged to take advantage of this unique opportunity for visibility and networking.

This event not only recognizes excellence but also fosters a spirit of entrepreneurship and resilience in a transforming global market, highlighting Fiji’s potential for sustainable growth. The awards stand as a celebration of the dynamic capabilities and creativity present within the Fijian business community.
