History will be made next Saturday at Eden Park as Bula FC prepares to play its first professional football match. As Fiji’s inaugural professional football franchise, Bula FC will take on Vanuatu United FC in the opening game of the OFC Professional League at 2 PM local time.

The Fiji Football Association, which holds a major stake in the franchise, expresses great enthusiasm for the future of the young talents on the team. CEO Mohammed Yusuf remarked that this event marks a significant milestone. “It’s historical even because those players marching on to the field at Eden Park will go down in history as the first players from Fiji to play professionally as a team, and their names shall never be forgotten,” he stated.

This landmark event not only celebrates the beginning of Bula FC but also sets a promising precedent for aspiring footballers in the region. Yusuf emphasized the potential for this franchise to inspire future generations, saying, “This shall inspire the next generation of players who want to be part of this franchise going forward.” The establishment of a professional team creates an avenue for young talents to develop their skills while fostering a robust support system from the community.

Preparations for the match are reportedly on track, with Yusuf expressing satisfaction regarding the team’s management and overall readiness for the historic kickoff. The development of a strong fan base is also anticipated, as the community rallies behind Bula FC, fostering a sense of pride among supporters.

With this debut, Bula FC not only aims to make an impact on the field but also hopes to establish a sustainable and thriving football culture in Fiji, setting the stage for future success.
