Fiji’s Bula Boys Set for Kickoff: Will They Shine Without Their Captain?

Roy Krishna, the captain of the Digicel Fiji Bula Boys, will not participate in the first match of the FIFA International “A” Friendlies Tri-Nations Series 2024 against the Solomon Islands. Krishna is currently in India preparing for the upcoming season of the Indian Super League with Odisha FC and will join his teammates for the second match against Hong Kong-China in Lautoka.

Team manager Kartik Reddy reported that the squad has entered the second week of training under head coach Rob Sherman. “The team is engaging in two practice sessions each day, focusing on strength and conditioning in the mornings and tactical and technical drills in the afternoons,” he stated.

Fiji’s opening match against the Solomon Islands is scheduled for Monday, September 2, at 7 pm at HFC Bank Stadium in Suva. The Solomon Islands will then face Hong Kong-China on Thursday, September 5, also at 7 pm at the same venue. Fiji’s final match in the series will occur against Hong Kong-China on Sunday, September 8, at 3 pm at Churchill Park in Lautoka. Tickets are priced at $10 for adults and $5 for children under ten.
