Fiji’s Bula Boys Face Challenge Without Captain Roy Krishna

Roy Krishna, the captain of the Digicel Fiji Bula Boys, will not be participating in the opening match of the FIFA International “A” Friendlies Tri-Nations Series 2024 against the Solomon Islands. Krishna is currently in India getting ready for the upcoming season of the Indian Super League with Odisha FC, but he will rejoin the team for their second match against Hong Kong-China in Lautoka.

Team manager Kartik Reddy mentioned that the squad has entered the second week of training, led by head coach Rob Sherman. “The boys are undergoing two training sessions each day, focusing on strength and conditioning in the mornings, followed by tactical and technical drills in the afternoons,” he stated.

Fiji is set to compete against the Solomon Islands on Monday, September 2, at 7 pm at HFC Bank Stadium in Suva. Following that, the Solomon Islands will play against Hong Kong-China on Thursday, September 5, at 7 pm at the same location. Fiji’s final match in the series will be against Hong Kong-China on Sunday, September 8, at 3 pm at Churchill Park in Lautoka. Tickets are available at a flat rate of $10 for adults and $5 for children under 10.
