Labasa forward Rusiate Doidoi has been selected to join the Fiji National Football Team for the MSG Prime Minister’s Cup in the Solomon Islands. He replaces Mosese Nabose from Tailevu Naitasiri, who had to withdraw due to work obligations.
Under the leadership of coach Marika Rodu, the Bula Boys have been training together since Sunday and will depart for the Solomon Islands tomorrow. Coach Rodu expressed his confidence in the squad’s depth and commitment, highlighting that Doidoi’s addition provides a significant boost to their offensive lineup.
The MSG Cup serves as an important platform for teams within the Melanesian Spearhead Group, fostering both regional talent and a sense of unity among the nations involved.
Fiji’s matches in the MSG Prime Minister’s Cup will commence with their first game against Vanuatu on Thursday, December 8, at 2 PM. Following that, they will play Papua New Guinea on Sunday, December 15, at 5 PM. The team will also face the Solomon Islands Development team on Wednesday, December 18, at 7 PM, and conclude the group stage with a match against the Solomon Islands on Saturday, December 21, at 7 PM.
