Fiji’s Boxing Showdown: A Historic Event Unfolds!

The Dimple Boxing Club is preparing to host one of the largest amateur boxing competitions in Fiji today at the Ba Market Bure. Promoter Mohammed Harun expressed his enthusiasm for the event, which promises to be a significant milestone for amateur boxing in the nation.

Harun revealed that the competition will feature between 50 to 60 bouts, including 10 international matches, making it one of the largest amateur boxing events in Fiji’s history. He stated, “We have five boxers from the Australian Amateur Boxing Association who will face off against our Fijian boxers in intense competitions.”

The event is sanctioned by the Fiji Amateur Boxing Association (FABA), and officials from the Australian Amateur Boxing Association are set to be special guests at the competition. Weigh-ins will commence at 7 a.m., with matches scheduled to begin at 12 p.m.

“The competition has drawn impressive local and international participation, highlighting the growing interest and development of amateur boxing in Fiji,” Harun noted. The event is backed by sponsors, including Main Construction, Ram Datt and Sons Trucking and Logging Contractors, Dimples Kitchen, and Dimples Kava.

Admission is priced at $5, making it affordable for the community and promising an exciting day of amateur boxing action.
