Newly crowned Boxing Commission of Fiji (BCF) heavyweight champion Semi Dauloloma has paid tribute to his wife and children following his knockout victory over James Singh at the prestigious Zeg Kings Boxing Promotion event held at the Vodafone Arena in Suva. Dauloloma, a native of Vanuavatu, Lau, secured the win in the fourth round, overcoming challenges posed by a rigorous training regimen in the months leading up to the fight.

“This win is for my wife and my children; they were sick for quite a while, so this is for them,” remarked Dauloloma, emphasizing the personal significance of his victory. After adhering to a strict diet during training, he expressed eagerness to indulge in a hearty meal.

Looking ahead, Dauloloma expressed his readiness to face future challengers, stating, “I’m looking forward to anyone who wants to challenge me.” He mentioned plans to retire in three years and pursue a new career afterwards. His gratitude extended to his coach, family, and various sponsors who supported him throughout his journey.

The event also featured other notable bouts, including Runqi Zhou’s split-point decision win against Junior Binnu Singh for the WBA super bantamweight Oceania title, and New Zealand’s Oliver Firth’s fifth-round TKO victory over Samuela Nagari for the light heavyweight NZPBC Oriental Pacific title. Other significant highlights included Rakuro Daunivavana’s unanimous points decision win over Samisoni Gonewai, as well as Filise Nabua securing her first professional win against Ilikimi Saudromodromo.

This victory not only elevates Dauloloma’s status in the boxing community but also provides hope and inspiration for aspiring boxers in Fiji. The increasing prominence of boxing in the region highlights the potential for future champions to emerge, reviving Fiji’s legacy in the sport.
