The National Development Plan is set to be unveiled next week, specifically on Tuesday, September 17. This announcement was made by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Professor Biman Prasad, who described the event as a significant milestone for both the government and the citizens.
Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka is anticipated to oversee the launch of the National Development Plan, which has been developed following comprehensive consultations with both the private sector and the public, as stated by Deputy Prime Minister Prasad.
According to him, the National Development Plan is of great importance and will prioritize several key issues. During public consultations, Fijians identified critical concerns, including access to water, rural electrification, enhanced network connectivity, better road infrastructure, and expanded healthcare services.
The National Development Plan will include frameworks for three years, five years, and twenty years, and is poised to serve as a guiding document for Fiji’s future development.
