A significant transition occurred today with the official handover of the Biosecurity Authority of Fiji (BAF) to the Ministry of Agriculture and Waterways. The ceremony was conducted by Ms. Laisa Bolalevu, Director of Monitoring at the Department of Public Enterprises, who passed the authority to Dr. Andrew Tukana, the Permanent Secretary for Agriculture and Waterways.
In his remarks, Dr. Tukana underscored the importance of BAF in protecting Fiji’s unique biodiversity and ensuring the sustainability of the nation’s agricultural and natural resources.
