Staff members from the InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa, Grand Pacific Hotel, and Holiday Inn Suva received accolades at HOTEC 2024, an annual event organized by the Fiji Hotel and Tourism Association designed to highlight achievements within the hospitality sector.
Taking place at the Sheraton Fiji Golf & Beach Resort, HOTEC serves as a gathering for Fiji’s hospitality experts, focusing on the celebration of accomplishments, innovation, and the future direction of tourism in Fiji.
Among the prominent achievers this year were:
– Hansini Gounder from InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa, who triumphed in the Barista Competition for the third consecutive time, previously claiming victories in 2017 and 2018. Her consistent success underscores her remarkable skill and commitment to coffee artistry.
– Theodore Reyes from the same resort claimed victory in the Bartender Competition, captivating the judges with his creative use of locally sourced ingredients in his cocktails.
– Anesh Anushal Goundar, also affiliated with InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa, earned the Runner-Up position in the Chef Competition, displaying his culinary talent with dishes inspired by traditional Fijian flavors.
They were also joined by Brandon Solvalu from Grand Pacific Hotel and Mereoni Ligadua and Malakai Kauyaca from Holiday Inn Suva, who represented FNPF Owned IHG Hotels & Resorts with professionalism, emphasizing the exceptional food and beverage talent present in Fiji’s hotel industry.
