Fiji secured a convincing 4-0 victory over Papua New Guinea, thanks to a remarkable performance by Tailevu Naitasiri striker France Catarogo, who scored three goals in the OFC Beach Soccer Men’s Nations Cup held in Honiara. With this win, Fiji claimed third place in the tournament.

The two teams had previously faced off in a highly competitive match, where Papua New Guinea emerged victorious with an 8-2 scoreline in their inaugural international Beach Soccer match. Fiji had been without their captain Tevita Waranaivalu and key player Madhwan Gounder for that encounter due to late arrivals.

Fiji’s scoring opened in the 8th minute with a goal from young talent Steven Dean. Catarogo then increased the lead in the 16th minute and went on to net two more goals in the 22nd and 34th minutes, solidifying the team’s dominant performance.
