Fiji’s Baby Pearls Gear Up for Crucial Netball Challenge!

The Baby Pearls, the U21 netball team of Fiji, are gearing up for an intense five-day training camp starting today under head coach Simone Nalatu. This preparation is crucial as they set their sights on the Ruby North Series, taking place from April 23 to 28, which will consist of five competitive matches.

During this camp, the players will sharpen their skills and work on their team dynamics, with a final squad of 15 members to be selected for the series. This series serves as an essential stepping stone for the team, which aims to showcase its potential in view of the upcoming Netball World Youth Cup scheduled for September 19 to 28 in Gibraltar.

Leading up to this camp, the squad has been preparing rigorously, training with their respective clubs both locally and internationally, indicating a strong commitment to readiness. Assistant coach Vaiti Waqatabu has been instrumental in focusing on developing team cohesion among the core group of players.

The Ruby North Series offers a significant opportunity for the Baby Pearls to gain international experience, which is crucial as they aim for a commendable performance at the World Youth Cup. This competitive exposure not only hones their skills but also boosts the profile of netball in Fiji, paving the way for future generations to take up the sport.
