The Digicel Fiji Baby Bula Boys face a crucial challenge today as they compete against New Zealand in the final of the OFC Under-16 Championship. This match comes after they secured their spot at the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Qatar next year by defeating Tahiti 2-1.
Head coach Sunil Kumar is optimistic about the team’s development, noting significant improvements throughout the tournament. Despite some tough pool matches that did not garner many positive comments about their performance, Kumar believes in the boys’ capabilities.
“We didn’t receive much praise for our pool match as the performance was lacking, but we knew the boys could perform better, and I’m very proud of their efforts,” said Kumar.
The Baby Bula Boys are determined to end their OFC men’s U-16 Championship on a high note, with the match set to begin at 4 PM today in Tahiti.
