ANZ Fiji has been facing a significant payment system outage since Monday, December 30, 2024, which has left many customers understandably frustrated. For the past three days, the bank did not release any public notifications about the situation, which compounded the inconvenience for clients who had to contact the Helpline for updates.
Rabih Yazbek, ANZ’s country head for Fiji, stated that their technology teams have been working diligently to address the complex technical issues that have arisen. He noted that the situation has been made more challenging due to the ongoing public holiday period.
“We understand the impact this has had on our customers, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused,” Yazbek said. Fortunately, he confirmed that a resolution was achieved early this morning, and the payment system is expected to be functioning normally from today onward.
ANZ has assured customers that they can reach out to the bank by calling 132 411 if they continue to encounter any problems or have concerns regarding potential fees incurred during the outage. With around 200,000 Fijians banking with ANZ Fiji, the bank is keen to restore normal operations and ensure customer satisfaction.
This situation serves as a reminder of the importance of effective communication in maintaining trust during service disruptions. It’s promising to see that the bank is actively working to resolve the issues and support its customers.
In summary, ANZ Fiji experienced a payment outage that affected many customers but has since resolved the problem. The bank’s commitment to addressing customer concerns and restoring normal operations is likely to strengthen relationships with its clientele moving forward.
