Angeline Rekha, a formidable defender from Fiji’s national women’s team, has secured a professional contract with Western Springs in New Zealand. The 20-year-old, who previously captained the Young Kulas and now plays for Rewa, is set to join her new team on February 1, 2025.
Recognized for her strong tackling, aerial skills, and leadership, Rekha has made a name for herself as one of the best defenders in Fiji. Her journey to this next level includes participating in trials with the Wellington Phoenix, an A-League club, in October 2023, showcasing her ambition to advance her football career in New Zealand.
Additionally, former Fiji U20 Captain Adi Litia Bakaniceva and Maria Veronica have also landed professional contracts. The talented midfielders will join forces with Hekari United, a top club in Papua New Guinea.
