Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka announced that Fiji is officially bidding to host the 2031 Pacific Games. The announcement was made during the 2023 Fiji Sports Awards held at HFC Bank Stadium. The bid has been submitted through the Fiji Association of Sports and National Olympic Committee (FASANOC), which is set to present it in Palau next month.

Mr. Rabuka emphasized the People’s Coalition Government’s ongoing commitment to sports development at all levels. He highlighted the plans to invest in athletes, enhance sports infrastructure, and promote inclusivity within sports. “We recognize the importance of providing opportunities for all the people of Fiji, regardless of gender, ethnicity, or ability, to participate in sports and pursue their dreams,” he stated.
