Ayesha Kirti Reddy has made a significant mark in academic circles by becoming the first student at the University of Fiji (UniFiji) to achieve A-plus (A+) grades in all her units, culminating in a perfect GPA of 4.5 out of 4.5. The 22-year-old recently graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Physics alongside a Graduate Diploma in Teaching during a ceremony at the Saweni Campus in Lautoka.
Reflecting on her journey, Ms. Reddy emphasized the importance of self-motivation, stating that her goal was always to excel and be the best version of herself rather than to compete against others. “From the very first semester, I aimed for all A+ grades and worked diligently to maximize my learning from lectures,” she shared. Her approach included meticulous time management; she acknowledged that balancing academic commitments with leisure activities is crucial, and that every academic task, from assignments to verbal assessments, held significance in her pursuit of excellence.
Ms. Reddy’s academic prowess can be traced back to her earlier education at Gurukul Primary School and Pandit Vishnu Deo Memorial College, where she notably scored 392 out of 400 in the Fiji Year 13 Examination in 2020.
Supported by her family from a young age, Ms. Reddy’s parents encouraged her educational journey by providing her with books and stationery at just three years old. She expressed gratitude for their sacrifices, which fueled her determination. “Education is my happy place; I don’t consider it a struggle but rather as a path to fulfillment,” she stated.
