Hard work and determination have paid off for Aanvi Prasad, a standout student from Lautoka Central Primary School, who has emerged as one of the top scorers in the 2024 Fiji Eighth Year Examination. Aanvi achieved an impressive score of 491 out of 500, a testament to her dedication throughout the year.
Reflecting on her journey, the 13-year-old head girl shared that her ambition to be the highest scorer motivated her to make significant sacrifices. “I worked towards my goal by setting timetables and committing to my schoolwork,” she said. Ao her efforts culminated in success, she expressed joy in fulfilling her aspiration.
Despite facing doubts from peers regarding her potential to secure the top mark, Aanvi remained steadfast, attributing her perseverance to the unwavering support of her parents and teachers. “They always encouraged me that anything is possible,” she stated, underscoring the importance of encouragement in overcoming challenges.
Her father, Ronil Prasad, expressed immense pride in her accomplishment, noting that the family’s commitment to her education has yielded rewarding results. “It is a different feeling as a parent to experience such an achievement from our children,” he remarked.
Looking ahead, Aanvi plans to continue her academic journey at Natabua High School next year. In a remarkable parallel, Viola Ravutubananitu of Tagitagi Sangam School in Ba also achieved the same outstanding score of 491 marks.
