FijiCare Insurance and its affiliates, MIOT Pacific Medical and MIOT Pacific Diagnostics, have officially partnered with the Fiji Medical Association (FMA) as the major sponsor for the year, dedicating their support to improve healthcare services throughout Fiji. The agreement was signed by FijiCare’s Chief Operating Officer, Krishika Narayan, and FMA President, Dr. Alipate Vakamocea, in a ceremony held in Suva.

In her statement, Narayan emphasized the importance of this sponsorship, describing it as a commitment to enhance healthcare in Fiji, not just through financial means but by collaborating on initiatives aimed at empowering healthcare professionals. She highlighted the FMA’s longstanding influence in the medical community, promoting excellence, innovation, and development among local healthcare workers.

Dr. Vakamocea acknowledged FijiCare’s generous support, mentioning that it would significantly aid in training healthcare professionals and raising public health awareness. He noted that in the past, the FMA has tackled public health concerns such as the HIV and dengue outbreaks, stressing the necessity of strong partnerships between the healthcare sectors to address such challenges effectively.

This one-year sponsorship will cover various educational and professional development opportunities, including major conferences for health practitioners in Fiji. Both leaders agreed that the collaboration between private and public healthcare sectors is crucial for achieving better health outcomes for the Fijian population, promoting the accessibility and quality of healthcare services.

The partnership between FijiCare and the FMA embodies a hopeful vision for Fiji’s healthcare landscape, which aims to enhance the training of healthcare professionals and improve public health awareness, ultimately leading to better health management across the nation.
