FijiCare and FMA Join Forces for a Healthier Future: $50,000 Investment Unveiled!

FijiCare Insurance Limited has officially announced a partnership with the Fiji Medical Association (FMA), committing a substantial $50,000 sponsorship for the year 2025 aimed at bolstering healthcare development and professional training in Fiji. The initiative reflects a strong dedication to enhancing healthcare services throughout the nation.

Krishika Narayan, Chief Operations Officer at FijiCare, emphasized that the sponsorship is intended to ensure that all Fijians have access to top-quality medical care, clarifying that healthcare is not just a service but an essential responsibility. In a previous report, FijiCare had noted that in 2024, the company processed over 176,000 medical claims, distributing more than $22 million to its members, highlighting their ongoing commitment to the community.

FMA President Dr. Alipate Vakamocea welcomed this partnership, explaining that the financial support would be crucial for ongoing and future medical training efforts. He underscored the importance of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for doctors across the country, stating that such events are necessary for medical professionals to earn CPD points. This aligns with the FMA’s ongoing advocacy for healthcare improvements and awareness, particularly regarding pressing public health issues like the dengue outbreak and HIV.

Dr. Vakamocea also expressed gratitude for FijiCare’s role in strengthening their public health outreach, noting that this partnership would enable the FMA to educate and inform the public about critical health concerns, which is only achievable through robust public-private collaborations.

This initiative is part of a broader trend in Fiji’s healthcare landscape, where investments and partnerships are increasingly recognized for their potential to improve health outcomes and accessibility for the Fijian population. These collaborative efforts illustrate a hopeful future where enhanced medical training and awareness campaigns can lead to better health management and individual well-being across the nation.

The commitment from both FijiCare and the FMA not only promises to uplift healthcare services but also embodies a vision of a healthier, more informed community, paving the way for positive change in the sector.
