Over 200 individuals gathered for a fundraising dinner held at the Sheraton Fiji Golf and Resort’s Denarau Island Convention Center on Saturday. The event was organized in partnership with Samson Lee Fiji, Sheraton, and Rosie Events, aiming to raise funds to assist those living with cancer in the western region.
Samson Lee, a prominent fashion designer who lost his sister to cancer, emphasized the significance of cancer awareness in his life. “This event is especially important to me. While I host charity events annually, this one resonates profoundly because my sister passed away from cancer,” he stated.
Lee noted that he commits to charitable giving every October. “Cancer is an issue very close to my heart,” he added. He expressed his appreciation for the turnout, highlighting the community’s genuine concern for the cause.
Silvano Dressino, general manager of Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay, praised the initiative, calling it a wonderful partnership that supports cancer patients in the west. “Marriott’s Pinktober celebration aligns with our long-standing commitment to community service, and we are grateful to have hosted this event. We’re pleased with the outcomes, as the proceeds will assist cancer patients,” Dressino remarked.
