Fijiana XV’s Ranking Plunge: What Happened Against Samoa?

The Fijiana XV rugby team, led by coach Mosese Rauluni, has dropped two positions in the World Rugby women’s rankings following a 17-45 loss to Samoa over the weekend. The match, held at the Sevens Stadium in the United Arab Emirates, had important consequences for both teams’ standings.

Samoa’s victory allowed them to surpass Fiji in the rankings, moving up to 15th place, while Fiji slid down to 16th. Prior to the match, Fiji was ranked three spots above Samoa and held a 2.92-point advantage.

This result changed the rankings, with Samoa now holding the higher position between the two teams after advancing two places. Fiji’s next match is against Spain, scheduled for this Sunday at 4:30 AM Fiji time.
