Fijiana XV Set for Thrilling Women’s Rugby World Cup Challenge in 2025!

The stage is set for an exhilarating Women’s Rugby World Cup in England in 2025, with the Vodafone Fijiana XV drawn in Pool B alongside Canada, Scotland, and Wales. The complete draw schedule will be revealed soon.

The tournament is slated to take place from September 7 to October 28, 2025, and promises a thrilling series of matches.

Alana Thomas, Manager of the FRU Women’s High Performance Unit, shared her excitement about the upcoming event. “Being placed in such a competitive pool highlights the development of women’s rugby in Fiji. We are ready to embrace the challenge and represent our country with pride,” Thomas stated.

She also expressed enthusiasm about knowing the team’s opponents for the tournament. “We are thrilled that the pool draw has concluded, allowing us to prepare for our matches in England next August. This World Cup is expected to be transformative for women’s rugby.”

Reflecting on a recent northern tour that included a match against Scotland, Thomas noted, “Although the result wasn’t what we had hoped for, it gave us valuable exposure to the Six Nations style of play.”

Additionally, she pointed out the advantages of their tour, stating, “Traveling to the other side of the world and experiencing different weather conditions for an extended period can significantly influence our performance.”

Currently, the Vodafone Fijiana XV has returned home after participating in the WXV3 competition in Dubai and has finalized their exit review. The team will take a break before reconvening in November to begin their training preparations.
