The stage is set for an exhilarating Women’s Rugby World Cup in England in 2025, with the Vodafone Fijiana XV placed in Pool B alongside Canada, Scotland, and Wales. The full match schedule will be announced in due course.

The tournament will feature a series of thrilling matches from September 7 to October 28, 2025. Alana Thomas, Manager of the FRU Women’s High Performance Unit, has voiced her enthusiasm for the upcoming event.

“Being drawn in such a competitive pool showcases the advancement of women’s rugby in Fiji. We are determined to meet the challenge and represent our country with pride,” Thomas stated.

“The Vodafone Fijiana XV are thrilled that the pool draw is finalized, and we now know our opponents for next August in England. This World Cup is expected to be a pivotal moment for the women’s game,” she added.

Thomas also reflected on the recent northern tour, where the team faced Scotland in their inaugural match. While the outcome wasn’t as hoped, it provided valuable exposure to the Six Nations style of rugby.

“The northern tour allowed us to travel across the globe, experience different weather conditions, and adapt to extended touring, all of which are vital for our performance,” she noted.

The Vodafone Fijiana XV have returned home after their participation in the WXV3 competition in Dubai and have finalized their exit review. The team is set to take a break before reconvening in November for training.
