Fijiana XV Seeks Redemption After Scotland Setback

Vodafone Fijiana XV head coach Mosese Rauluni acknowledges that there is significant room for improvement following the team’s disappointing 59-15 defeat against the Scotland Women’s team in their first test match on Sunday.

Rauluni highlights that while the team’s fitness is solid, their on-field decision-making requires enhancement. Despite their efforts to maintain an aggressive approach throughout the match, he noted that lapses in performance contributed to conceding easy points.

He indicated that the team faced challenges in set pieces and decision-making, particularly with passing amid the windy conditions in Scotland. “The team fought till the end, but there were many instances where we lacked focus and gave away easy points,” Rauluni remarked. “Even in the beautiful Scottish weather without rain, the wind affected our passing a lot; our attempts to offload and execute push passes didn’t consistently work.”

Rauluni also pointed out the impact of receiving two yellow cards and emphasized the importance of learning from these mistakes. The Fijiana XV is set to face the Netherlands at 5:30 AM on Friday.
