Fijiana XV Ready to Make Waves at Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025!

The Women’s Rugby World Cup is gearing up for an exciting tournament set to take place in England in 2025. The Vodafone Fijiana XV has been drawn into Pool B, where they will compete against Canada, Scotland, and Wales, with the complete match schedule to be announced shortly.

The tournament is scheduled to run from September 7 to October 28, 2025, featuring a thrilling array of matches. Alana Thomas, the Women’s High Performance Unit Manager for the Fiji Rugby Union, has shared her enthusiasm for the upcoming World Cup.

“Being placed in such a competitive pool highlights the development of women’s rugby in Fiji. We are ready to embrace the challenge and honorably represent our nation,” Thomas remarked.

The Vodafone Fijiana XV is eager now that the pool draw is complete, confirming their opponents for the competition in England next August. This World Cup is seen as a pivotal moment for women’s rugby.

“Following our recent northern tour, where we faced Scotland in our first match, we may not have achieved the desired result, but it allowed us valuable experience in the Six Nations style of rugby,” Thomas stated.

“Additionally, traveling to the northern hemisphere has given us the chance to adjust to different weather conditions and extended touring, all of which can influence our performance,” she added.

The Vodafone Fijiana XV has returned home after participating in the WXV3 competition in Dubai and has concluded their exit review. The team will take a brief hiatus before reconvening in November to begin training for the World Cup.
