The Vodafone Fijiana XV team is gearing up for their match against the Wallaroos at the Allianz Stadium in Sydney this Saturday.
Head coach Mosese Rauluni emphasized that his team needs to be in top form when they face the fifth-ranked team in women’s rugby.
“The players have been training well and have shown significant improvement since the Japan game, but we will see how things turn out when we go up against the Wallaroos on Saturday,” he said.
He acknowledged that despite the Wallaroos losing all their test matches so far, they remain a formidable opponent.
Rauluni anticipates a challenging match on the Wallaroos’ home turf.
“We are playing away, in different conditions, so it’s going to be much colder compared to our last visit to Australia,” he said.
“We cannot underestimate the Wallaroos; we need to be fully prepared.”
Rauluni mentioned that they aim to leverage their backline with quick ball delivery.
“We must defend effectively against the Wallaroos’ varied shapes and formations in attack,” he said.
Rauluni is hopeful for strong support from the Fijian community in Sydney during their match against the Wallaroos.
“It was beneficial to have our contact session here in Fiji before heading to Sydney,” he said. “We will focus on executing the basics correctly and prepare well for Saturday.”
The match will kick off at 6.45 pm.
