Speedster Atelaite Buna has been dropped from the squad, while four players from the Fijiana 7s program—Ilisapeci Delaiwau, Mere Vocevoce, Kelera Yani, and Verenaisi Ditavutu—have earned spots due to their impressive performances during the USA test camp.

Joining the team is a blend of seasoned veterans and upcoming talents, with captain Alfreda Fisher Maria leading a group that includes experienced players like Karalaini Naisewa, Vika Matarugu, and Asinate Serevi. Exciting debutants such as Carletta Yee, Selai Grace Naliva, and Michella’e Brigid Stolz have also been integrated into the squad, marking a promising anticipation for what’s to come.

Head Coach Ioan Cunningham emphasized the importance of balancing experience with youthful energy to meet the demands of top-ranked teams. He acknowledged that Salanieta “Nabuli” was not selected due to disciplinary issues, but remained optimistic about the team’s composition and chemistry.

The Fijiana XV will depart for England next Wednesday, with their first match in the World Cup scheduled against Canada on the 23rd. The team is hopeful as they aim to build on their recent successes and showcase their talents on the world stage.
