The Vodafone Fijiana XV team is gearing up for their match against the Wallaroos at Allianz Stadium in Sydney this Saturday.
Head coach Mosese Rauluni emphasized the importance of his team performing well against the fifth-ranked women’s rugby team.
“The players have been training well and they’ve improved significantly since the Japan game, but the real test will come on Saturday against the Wallaroos,” Rauluni stated.
“Although the Wallaroos have lost all their test matches so far, they are still a formidable opponent.”
Rauluni acknowledged the challenge of facing the Wallaroos on their home turf.
“We are playing away, and the conditions will be much colder compared to our last visit to Australia,” he noted. “We can’t take the Wallaroos lightly, and we need to be at our best.”
Rauluni highlighted the strategy of utilizing their backline with swift ball delivery.
“We have to defend well against the Wallaroos’ various shapes and offensive formations,” he added.
He also expressed hope for strong support from the Fijian community in Sydney.
“It was beneficial to have our contact sessions here in Fiji before heading to Sydney,” Rauluni said. “We need to focus on doing the basics right and prepare thoroughly for Saturday.”
The match is scheduled to kick off at 6.45 pm.
