Fijiana XV Gears Up for Showdown Against Wallaroos

The Vodafone Fijiana XV team is gearing up for their match against the Wallaroos at Allianz Stadium in Sydney this Saturday. Head coach Mosese Rauluni emphasized the importance of the team being at their best against the fifth-ranked women’s rugby team.

“Our players have been training hard and have shown significant improvement since the Japan game, but the real test will be against the Wallaroos on Saturday,” Rauluni stated. “Despite the Wallaroos losing all their test matches so far, they remain a formidable opponent.”

Rauluni acknowledged the challenge of facing the Wallaroos on their home turf. “We are playing away in different conditions, and it will be much colder compared to our previous visit to Australia. We cannot underestimate the Wallaroos; we need to be fully prepared.”

The coach expressed his intention to leverage the team’s backline and deliver the ball quickly. “We must defend well against the Wallaroos’ varied shapes and attack formations,” he noted.

Rauluni also hopes for strong support from the Fijian community in Sydney. “It was beneficial to have our contact sessions in Fiji before heading to Sydney. We will focus on perfecting the basics and preparing thoroughly for the match.”

The game is scheduled to kick off at 6:45 pm.
