The Women’s Rugby World Cup in England is gearing up for an exhilarating tournament in 2025, with the Vodafone Fijiana XV drawn into Pool B alongside Canada, Scotland, and Wales. The complete draw schedule will be released soon.
The matches are scheduled to take place from September 7 to October 28, 2025.
Alana Thomas, Manager of the FRU Women’s High Performance Unit, shared her excitement for the upcoming World Cup. “Being placed in such a competitive pool is a reflection of the growth of women’s rugby in Fiji. We are ready to embrace this challenge and represent our country with pride,” she stated.
“The Vodafone Fijiana XV is thrilled to know our opponents for England next August. This World Cup is expected to significantly impact women’s rugby,” Thomas added.
She also mentioned the team’s recent experience during a northern tour where they faced Scotland in their first match. “Although the result wasn’t what we wanted, it gave us valuable exposure to the Six Nations style of rugby. The tour also allowed us to travel to the other side of the world, experience different weather conditions, and adjust to an extended tour, all of which are crucial for our performance,” Thomas noted.
The Vodafone Fijiana XV have returned home following their participation in the WXV3 competition in Dubai and have completed their exit review. The team will take a break before gathering again in November to begin training.
