The Fijiana XV rugby team, led by coach Mosese Rauluni, has dropped two places in the World Rugby women’s rankings following a 17-45 defeat to Samoa over the weekend.

The match, held at the Sevens Stadium in the United Arab Emirates, had crucial implications for the standings of both teams. Samoa’s victory allowed them to surpass Fiji, advancing to 15th place, while the Fijiana XV fell to 16th.

Prior to this match, the Fijiana were ranked three spots ahead of Samoa and held a 2.92-point advantage. The recent result altered the rankings, positioning Samoa as the higher-ranked team after they gained two places.

Fiji is scheduled to face Spain this Sunday at 4:30 AM Fiji time for their next match.
