Fijiana XV Faces Challenges After Tough Scotland Loss: What’s Next?

Vodafone Fijiana XV head coach Mosese Rauluni has acknowledged the need for improvement after the team’s disappointing 59-15 loss to the Scotland Women in their first test match on Sunday. Rauluni noted that while the team’s fitness level is commendable, their decision-making on the field requires attention.

Although the players showed determination and fought until the end, Rauluni highlighted critical lapses that resulted in conceding easy points. He pointed out difficulties with set pieces and passing, particularly affected by the windy conditions in Scotland.

“The team fought till the end, but there were many instances where we were lacking and gave away easy points,” Rauluni stated. He added, “Despite the pleasant Scottish weather without rain, the wind made our passing inconsistent; attempts to offload and push passes were hit and miss.”

Rauluni also referred to the impact of receiving two yellow cards and emphasized that the team needs to learn from these mistakes. Fijiana XV is set to face the Netherlands on Friday at 5:30 am.
