Vodafone Fijiana XV captain Karalaini Naisewa is hopeful for a strong showing against Scotland and the Netherlands ahead of the World XV 3 tournament in Dubai.
The Fijiana team is set to face Scotland on September 15, followed by a match against the Netherlands on September 19, before heading to Dubai for the WXV 3 on September 27.
Naisewa shared her enthusiasm about the team’s preparation, stating that the last eight weeks of training have been rigorous and effective. “The girls have been training well; it’s been an exciting eight weeks of training, and we are ready to face tier one nations and head to Dubai for the World XV,” Naisewa expressed. She added that the team is eager, having engaged in high-intensity training, and they are looking forward to the games against Scotland and the Netherlands.
Discussing the upcoming match with Scotland, Naisewa recognized the challenge the team faces but remains confident in their abilities. “Scotland is one of the top six in the world. They will be strong and will provide a tough game, but we are prepared for the challenge,” she noted.
Additionally, Naisewa pointed out that four new players will join the squad, including former Fiji Pearls netball player Alisi Galo, who is ready to make her debut along with Salaseini Railumu, Alfreda Fisher, and Ivamere Nabura.
She called on fans in Scotland and the Netherlands to come out and support the team.
The Fijiana XV left the country yesterday, aiming to gain momentum in these test matches as they prepare for the WXV 3 tournament in Dubai later this month.
