Fiji has emerged as the new champions of the Oceania 7s tournament, triumphing over Samoa Manusina with a score of 14-5 during the final match held in Honiara on Sunday night.

The tightly contested final saw no points on the board in the first half. However, in the second half, Fiji broke the deadlock by successfully scoring two converted tries. Despite Samoa managing to score a try just before the final whistle, it wasn’t enough to change the outcome of the match.

In a showcase of athleticism, Tonga secured third place by decisively defeating the Solomon Islands with a score of 41-5.

This victory not only highlights the strength and skill of Fijian rugby players but also signifies their resilience and determination in the face of competition. The turnaround in the second half underscores the exciting nature of Sevens rugby, where the momentum can shift dramatically in a short timeframe. The tournament also allowed the participating teams to gain invaluable experience and develop their skills on an international stage.
