The Fijiana 7s team is currently ranked 11th in the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series standings following the first leg of the tournament. Although the team faced significant challenges, particularly during their debut, the experience gained over the last two weeks is invaluable for the new players.

Despite finishing last in the Dubai Sevens, the team showcased resilience by improving their performance and securing 10th place in Cape Town a week later. With a total of four points, the Fijiana occupies the 11th position, narrowly ahead of Spain, which is in 12th place.

Leading the standings is New Zealand, boasting 36 points after winning gold in Cape Town and earning a silver medal in Dubai. Australia follows closely in second with 34 points, and France holds third place with 32 points, thanks to two bronze medal finishes.

It is encouraging to see the Fijiana team on a learning curve, and with continued determination, they could turn their experiences into future successes on the world stage. The team’s progress and achievements amidst the challenges underline their potential for growth and development in the competitive landscape of women’s sevens rugby.
