Livia Naidei, a new addition to the Fijiana 7s team, is eagerly anticipating her role representing Fiji at the HSBC SVNS Series opener in Dubai. The Savusavu halfback, who has been playing rugby since 2009, expressed her gratitude and excitement upon receiving the call-up.
Grewing up in Savusavu and later moving to Suva, Naidei has faced challenges in her rugby journey, including a stint in 15s rugby. However, she feels fortunate to have been selected to join the 7s squad and is looking forward to the new opportunities this brings. “I am very happy that I have been chosen to represent Fiji,” she stated.
Naidei acknowledges the support she has received from her family through her difficulties. “Things have been hard, but I thank my family; sometimes it is them who push me to do my best,” she said. She is determined to make her loved ones and her country proud as she embarks on this new chapter.
In summary, Naidei’s story illustrates the power of perseverance and family support in achieving dreams. As she steps onto the global stage in Dubai, there is great hope that her journey will inspire others in her community and beyond.
