Fijian swimmer David Young delivered an outstanding performance at the 2024 Paris Olympics, setting a new national record and personal best in the Men’s 50m Freestyle. The 19-year-old clocked in at 22.71 seconds, improving on his previous best of 22.87 set at the 2023 World Aquatic Championships in Fukuoka, Japan. Young’s performance propelled him to the top of heat 5, among the world’s elite swimmers. Despite the stiff competition, he finished 40th out of 73 swimmers.
