Fijian Star Vuate Karawalevu Joins Swire Shipping Drua: A New Chapter Begins!

The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua has announced the signing of Vuate Karawalevu, a fullback for the Flying Fijians, on a full-time contract. Karawalevu recently made his debut for the national 15s team during the Pacific Nations Cup against Samoa, where he scored a try in Fiji’s 42-16 victory.

At just 23 years old, Karawalevu has already played in the Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific for the NSW Waratahs in 2024. He has previously represented Fiji in Rugby League, participating with the Fiji Bati at the 2021 Rugby League World Cup.

A former student of Marist Brothers High School, he has also played for the Kaiviti Silktails in the Ron Massey Cup, the North Sydney Bears in the NSW Cup, and has been included in the Sydney Roosters’ NRL setup.

Expressing his excitement about joining the Fijian Drua, Karawalevu stated he looks forward to playing in front of the fans and is ready to embrace this new opportunity. “Feeling incredibly excited and blessed to join this new club! It’s an honour to play for my home team, and I can’t wait to give it my all on the field. Ready for this new chapter and grateful for the opportunity to represent where I come from,” he said.
