Fijian rugby player Luke Tagi has extended his contract with the Basque club Aviron Bayonnais until 2028, as announced by the team. Tagi, who first joined the club last season, is praised for his contributions and professional growth since moving to France in 2019 to play with Stade Francais.
During his two seasons with Stade, he made 18 appearances. He then moved on to Aix-en-Provence in the ProD2 league, where he made a significant impact with 45 league appearances and eight tries over two seasons. His performance there helped him secure a well-deserved spot back in the French Top 14 with Bayonne.
Tagi recently shone on the international stage as a standout player for the Flying Fijians during the 2023 Rugby World Cup, highlighting his world-class skills and further establishing his reputation in the sport. His contributions are expected to greatly benefit the team in the upcoming seasons.
The team’s management congratulated Tagi and his fiancé, Stella, on this new chapter in their lives, indicating a bright future ahead, both professionally and personally.
This contract renewal reflects the club’s commitment to building a strong team, signaling a hopeful outlook for their future in competitions. With Tagi’s talent and experience, Bayonne may aim for greater success in the years to come.
