Ponipate Loganimasi, the dynamic winger from the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua, has received a prestigious call-up to the First Nations & Pasifika XV, making him the third player from his team to join this celebrated squad, alongside fellow Fijian stars Mesake Doge and Mesake Vocevoce.

Loganimasi’s selection follows an outstanding debut season in the 2025 Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific, where he played 12 matches and scored six tries, establishing himself as a key player. His impressive performance throughout the season earned him recognition at the 2025 Annual Drua Awards Night, where he received three major titles: Pepsi Men’s Rookie of the Year, Men’s Fan Player of the Year, and FijiCare Moment of the Year.

Fijian Drua General Manager, Baden Stephenson, praised Loganimasi’s talent, emphasizing that this opportunity will allow him to showcase his skills at an even higher level. The trio’s preparation is geared toward the highly anticipated match against the British & Irish Lions, scheduled for next Tuesday at 9:45 PM at Marvel Stadium in Naarm, Melbourne.

Loganimasi’s rapid rise reflects not just his individual efforts but also the growing talent pool within Fijian rugby, suggesting a promising future for the sport. Fans can look forward to seeing how this talented young athlete shines on the international stage, inspiring both his teammates and aspiring rugby players across Fiji.
