Fijian Rugby Teams Earn Presidential Praise Ahead of Big Matches!

The Flying Fijians and Fijiana XV delivered their traditional itatau to President Ratu Wiliame Katonivere at the State House, gearing up for the upcoming Pacific Nations Cup and various international fixtures.

President Katonivere extended a warm welcome to the teams and expressed his appreciation, noting the pride they have instilled in the nation. He recognized their commitment and achievements, stating they serve as role models for young Fijians aspiring to enter the sport of rugby.

“Thank you for your unwavering dedication to elevating the image of rugby both locally and internationally,” President Katonivere remarked. “Your exceptional performances have turned you into role models for our youth, encouraging them to strive for careers in rugby.”

The President also acknowledged the Fiji Rugby Union, as well as the coaches and support staff, for their dedication in developing the players and preparing them for the global stage.

The Fiji Water Flying Fijians are scheduled to face Samoa this Friday at 6 pm at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva. Meanwhile, the Vodafone Fijiana XV is finalizing their preparations for a series of international matches, including the WXV 3 tournament in Dubai next month.
