Fijian winger Vinaya Habosi has not faced any charges following his recent arrest on domestic violence allegations, yet reports from France indicate he may be suspended by his club, Racing 92.

Habosi was released after his partner chose not to file a complaint against him. The incident reportedly stemmed from an argument in which the 24-year-old allegedly pushed his partner while she was holding their baby. Witnesses reported that after she fell, Habosi began to strike her in the back of the head. Fortunately, it has been confirmed that the baby was unharmed during the incident, and his partner declined assistance from emergency services and showed no visible injuries.

Reports suggest that Habosi appeared to be intoxicated at the time and claimed he did not push or hit his wife.

In response, Racing 92 stated, “Racing 92 has taken note of the facts alleged against its player Vinaya Habosi. Pending further information from the competent authorities, Racing 92 will refrain from any further comment.”

If he is found guilty, it is expected that his contract with coach Stuart Lancaster’s Paris club will be terminated. Habosi made his international debut for Fiji in 2022 and participated in the 2023 Rugby World Cup in France. He joined Racing 92 in 2023 after having his contract with Fijian Drua terminated due to a previous alleged incident of domestic abuse that was classified as a “high-level breach” of their code of conduct.
