Fijian Rugby Star Vuate Karawalevu Joins the Drua!

Swire Shipping Fijian Drua has officially signed Flying Fijians fullback Vuate Karawalevu on a full-time contract. Karawalevu made his national 15s debut during the Pacific Nations Cup opener against Samoa last Friday, scoring a try and contributing to Fiji’s impressive 42-16 victory.

At just 23 years old, Karawalevu has previously competed in the Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific for the NSW Waratahs in 2024. He has also represented Fiji in Rugby League, playing for the Fiji Bati in the 2021 Rugby League World Cup.

A graduate of Marist Brothers High School, he has experience with the Kaiviti Silktails in the Ron Massey Cup, the North Sydney Bears in the NSW Cup, and has been affiliated with the Sydney Roosters in the NRL.

Versatile in his playing abilities, Karawalevu is looking forward to returning home to join the Fijian Drua and play in front of passionate fans. “I’m incredibly excited and blessed to join this new club! It’s an honour to play for my home team, and I can’t wait to give it my all on the field,” he expressed. “I’m ready for this new chapter and grateful for the opportunity to represent where I come from.”
