Vuate Karawalevu, a new addition to the Fijian Drua rugby team, has expressed his enthusiasm about joining the nation’s premier rugby club. The 23-year-old hails from Dravuwalu Village in Kadavu and previously played for the Waratahs. He believes that his arrival at the Drua is a result of divine timing and hard work.

Karawalevu indicated his excitement about returning home, stating, “It was God’s timing, I asked my mum and dad, they said it would be good to have me here, back with the Drua and stay home for a bit.” He emphasizes the joy this opportunity brings not only to him but also to his family.

He feels comfortable among his new teammates, many of whom he has previously played with during his time with the Flying Fijians and in high school. “It has been good; most of the boys I camped with during the Flying Fijians tour, and many of the boys we played together back in high school and the Fiji Schoolboys,” he said.

Regarding his playing position, Karawalevu is adaptable and expressed a strong preference for fullback, while also willing to take on wing if needed. His versatility and positive outlook could be vital assets to the Drua as they prepare for their upcoming season.

In summary, Vuate Karawalevu’s return to the Fijian Drua not only signifies a significant personal achievement for him but also adds depth to the team. His journey reflects a blend of hard work, familial support, and a touch of faith, making his presence in the squad even more meaningful. This positive turn in his career is a hopeful reminder that with persistence and support, great opportunities can arise.
