The Fijian Parliament has passed the 2024-25 National Budget with 38 members voting in favor.
Bill 7 of 2024, which appropriates the sum of $3,955,819,479 for the year ending 31 July 2025, was read for the third time by Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister, Professor Biman Prasad, before a vote was taken.
Independent Opposition Members of Parliament who voted in favor include Aliki Bia, Mosese Bulitavu, Shalen Kumar, Ioane Naivalurua, Viliame Naupoto, Penioni Ravunawa, Taito Rokomatu, Alipate Tuicolo, Naisa Tuinaceva, and Ratu Josaia Niudamu.
Meanwhile, 11 Members of Parliament voted against the budget, while 2 abstained from voting.
