The Western Force has secured the signing of Adi Vani Buleki, a talented Fijian Olympic sevens player, for the upcoming 2025 Super Rugby Women’s season. Buleki, who is just 24 years old, represented Fiji at the 2024 Paris Olympics, where she scored two tries, and was part of the Fijian team that won a silver medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games. She also competed in the 2022 Rugby World Cup Sevens in Cape Town.

Having dedicated several years to the Fiji sevens setup, Buleki now aims to transition to the 15-a-side game with the Western Force, bringing with her a diverse skill set and immense potential. Force head coach Dylan Parsons expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “She’s played the majority of her rugby in the sevens circuit for Fiji. We see her being pretty dynamic and bringing a lot of X-factor.” He emphasized her versatility, noting that she possesses the capability to excel in multiple positions.

Parsons acknowledged Buleki’s physical attributes, describing her as a powerful runner who is both quick and tall—traits that will enhance the Force’s backline options. He is optimistic about her contributions, especially as the team evolves towards a more professional environment. “She’s been a professional for a number of years, which brings a lot of value to our program,” Parsons added.

Buleki is expected to arrive in Perth this month, marking an exciting new chapter not only in her career but also in the representation of women in rugby, especially in Fiji. This signing highlights the increasing opportunities for female athletes in competitive rugby leagues and opens doors for aspiring sportswomen in the Pacific region.

Her story reflects a broader trend of progress for women’s rugby, inspiring the next generation of female athletes to pursue their dreams in sports. As Buleki embarks on this new journey, her achievements will serve as a beacon of hope and motivation for many young women in Fiji and beyond, fostering a brighter future for women’s rugby.
