Neharika Gambhir has expressed heartfelt gratitude to everyone who supported her in her new role as a crew astrobiologist and data officer for the Analog Astronaut Training Centre with NASA. In a recent message, she conveyed her appreciation in her native languages, saying “Vinaka Vakalevu” and “Dhaniyavad” to those who reached out with best wishes.
She shared that just one week ago, she updated her profile picture as she has frequently done before and soon went to sleep. Upon waking, she was surprised to learn that she had gained fans from across various age groups. Gambhir received an overwhelming number of well-wishes from all corners of the globe, particularly from her beloved island home.
Although she couldn’t respond to each message individually, she felt extremely humbled and proud to represent her nation, wearing the “Noble Banner Blue” proudly on her arm. Gambhir remains hopeful to continue making Fiji proud and is grateful for the ongoing support and blessings she has received.
This remarkable achievement not only highlights Gambhir’s talent and dedication but also serves as an inspiration for many aspiring individuals from her community. Her journey reflects the growing representation of Pacific Islanders in scientific fields and underscores the importance of community support in achieving one’s dreams. Now more than ever, we see that dreams can transcend borders and cultures, uniting people through shared aspirations.
