In response to the recent floods in the Nawaka area, local individuals and volunteers came together to provide much-needed hot meals to those displaced and taking refuge in evacuation centers. This generous effort was spearheaded by Jese Bale, who emphasized the importance of supporting those in need during these challenging times.
On social media, Bale expressed his concern regarding the widespread focus on trivial matters, urging people to redirect their attention toward helping those who are suffering. “While the rest of Fiji is bothered about other people’s ‘personal lives’ on social media, we, the empathetic people, are more worried about our people in this time of suffering and in need of a hot meal and essentials,” he stated. He called for a change in attitude among the citizens of Fiji, encouraging everyone to take action and contribute positively to their communities.
Joining him in this noble cause was his 10-year-old son, Semisi Naevo, who helped distribute food to flood-affected residents. Their actions exemplify the spirit of community and compassion, inspiring others to lend a hand in times of crisis.
This heartwarming initiative showcases the power of collective effort and empathy in responding to natural disasters. It serves as a reminder that in times of adversity, community support can make a significant difference in the lives of those who are struggling. Such acts of kindness not only provide immediate relief but also foster a sense of solidarity and hope for a brighter future.
