Three vibrant Fijian social media influencers have been chosen to participate in the upcoming 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Convention in Odisha, India. A pre-departure briefing was conducted by senior officials from the High Commission of India in Suva for the selected influencers: Shania Singh, Shaheel Shermont Flair, and Ashwani Vasist Deo.

Shaheel Shermont Flair has garnered substantial recognition on TikTok, where his videos have been shared by numerous high-profile celebrities, including Bollywood stars. Meanwhile, Ashwani’s content on TikTok has also achieved wide reach.
The influencers will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in India’s rich cultural heritage and scenic beauty during the convention, which is scheduled to take place from January 8 to 10 in Bhubaneswar, Odisha.
Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) is celebrated annually on January 9, a date significant to India’s history as it marks the return of Mahatma Gandhi from South Africa in 1915. This event is meant to honor the contributions of the Overseas Indian community to the nation’s development.
